[Radiant] Checkout from SVN or Gem

I tried out radiant and have decided to use it for my production site and I
was wondering whether I should use the gem or checkout the latest version
from svn.  I am thinking of using the svn method and installing extensions
with svn:externals.  Is there any reason to do otherwise?
