Title: RE: (RADIATOR) having problem talking to Oracle

Hi Hugh,

Thanks for your advice, but reinstalling DBI and DBD:Oracle didn't make any difference.  The logfile shows:

Fri Mar 24 10:42:10 2000: ERR: Could not connect to SQL database with DBI->connect dbi:Oracle:(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=ent-db.flashcom.com)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=qip))), db_name, password:

Fri Mar 24 10:42:10 2000: ERR: Could not connect to SQL database with DBI->connect dbi:Oracle:qip, , :
Fri Mar 24 10:42:10 2000: ERR: Could not connect to any SQL database. Request is ignored. Backing off for 10 seconds

where db_name and password were replaced.  But notice the second error message, it attempts to make connection to database without the username and password.  Any idea why?

Thanks again for your help.

-S.

I would suggest reinstalling DBI and DBD-Oracle.

You could also completely reinstall a separate copy of Perl and Radiator and
compare the two installations at each step of the way.
