Are you using the Session-Timeout in the reply item.
If yes, then Cisco NAS will work but not MAX TNT or any Ascend/Lucent for
that matter.
You must use the VSA for MAX TNT for session-timeout which is
"Ascend-Maximum-Time". You can have both "Session-Timeout" and
"Ascend-Maximum-Time" for the same user reply attribute and both Cisco and
MAX TNT will work just fine.

The same for goes Idle-timeout. MAX TNT wil need the attribute
"Ascend-Idle-Limit" to work.
