Define monitored?

147.360 WA2ZLB used to be amazing with crazy coverage, but RF filters are a
thing and there was some spat between the repeater owner(s) and the
building they lease tower space from about who's responsibility it was.
It's sad.

I currently like hanging on 147.27 W2ABC when I feel bold enough to brace
the egos and crazy people on repeaters in NYC.

The N2ROW linked repeater system used to be massive (google it) but not all
links are up.

What will probably happen is you'll get on the typical 2m/70cm repeaters in
the area, which are either never used or filled with whackers or crazy
people. Sometimes, someone will be QRMing the repeater. You'll then move to
calling simplex, realize the only person ever on is some bro in NJ with a
yagi and 2000W amplifier deafening your receiver.

Then you'll realize HF is the way to go.

Sincerely,
your friendly neighbor repeaterbook admin
