Thats a limitation in all squeezebox hardware players and also
squeezeplay.

You can only enter an ip adress as the server adress.
There is an ingnored enhancement req for that.

If your isp can give you fixed ip your ok, or like my isp the IP is
semi permanent they only change it when necessary, not daily or
something stupid like that.

Dont forget to port forward both 9000 tcp and 3483tcp/udp in your
router.

Why ? My theory is that *They* don't "want" to do it as
squeezeboxserver is nothing close to secure, you punch a hole into your
server from the internet.

But thats up to the user imho, there have been discussions on a better
more secure way to do this, I basically wants to eventually have a
player at my Parents place .

controll this
