I've never had an alarm clock that didn't have backlit buttons... or a snooze/sleep button for that matter. Sure you can use the knob to snooze but I had to dig around the documentation to figure that one out and I had to install a plugin called KidsPlay to get a sleep button.
The form-factor of the Radio is exactly what I wanted. The lack of key features that existed in the Boom and make more sense in the Radio is mind-blowing. I would pay extra to get a Squeezebox Radio with backlit buttons and a dedicated snooze/sleep button on the top like the Boom has. The problem with this device is that I could not find it anywhere locally and had to purchase directly from Logitech. BestBuy replaced the Squeezebox showcase with a Sony display and I couldn't find a Squeezebox anywhere in the store. The salespeople had no idea what I was talking about and sent me to the Sony stuff. Had I known the device was missing these features I would have waited for something better and just bought a Squeezebox receiver to play music downstairs.
