I bought the Radio a couple weeks ago for a clock radio. We keep it on the dresser (not bedside) so the lack of a remote is a deal-breaker.
I considered sidegrading (downgrading?) to the Boom to get the remote, but I'm very happy with the user interface of the Radio, and I think the sound on the Radio is fine. My understanding is that the Boom interface would be a step backward. But it is killing me to think that I have to spend $56 to get a remote control. I don't have any need for the included battery pack. I have tried remote controlling it with the iTouch, and that works, but the iTouch travels all over the house: it is not reliably at the bedside, nor is it convenient. Has anybody out there used some kind of cheap $20 universal remote to control this thing?
