It is most likely that the batteries are back in stock and available
for shipping, so they are shipping out back-orders. Because if there
were no batteries available, its hard for it to be an accident,
clueless customer service, or a squeaky wheel syndrome. It is much more
likely coincidence of the batteries coming back in stock a few days
after he called to follow-up.

But as they say, only time will tell.
