If I understand you literally, you are not turning your radio on first with the power button? Are you going from 'off' (stand-by, actually) to Play without pressing the power button in between? Maybe I'm wrong, but did I read in another post sometime back that this is cured by always powering on first and never use the play button to "wake up" your radio from standby. Like Ciarmer said, there's two seemingy-related-but-probably-not issues being discussed.
