AAC is not natively supported by the older players (SB1/2/3, Boom,
Duet) so having AAC streams on MySB was pointless.  SBS was always
needed to transcode such AAC streams.
Only in the last year, since your Radio was released, did SB have a
player with native AAC support.

The Alarm is a quirky feature that is known to be troublesome,
particularly when using only MySB.  Alarm use with SBS on your computer
is much more stable.

I know... I know... you bought the Radio in part to be used as an
Alarm, it was marketed as such, you don't want to run your computer
24/7, etc.. etc...
I'm just telling you the state of affairs as it stands with the Radio's
quirky Alarm feature.
Don't yell at me.  :)

There are TONS of Alarm issue posts in here with some possible fixes
and workarounds.  Enjoy the reading......   ;)
