Well, actually the station can be playing. :) While the station is playing, hit the BACK (left) arrow which will take you to the previous menu where you selected the station to Play. Now do just as you instruct, hover over that station and press "+". They *really* need to put Add to Favorites back on the Now Playing context menu.
