I guess there is an internet gateway at this site that requires a
username and password login. This is something a lot of hotels do for
example. In many cases the WiFi is even just an open (unprotected)
network.

I would first ask the holiday resort people if they can open up the
internet access for your SB. They will need the SB’s MAC address for
that. If that is not an option then there is a workaround (but it is
not that straight forward):

The difficulty here is that the gateway will look at the MAC address of
the device that needs internet connectivity. You could overwrite your
laptop’s MAC address with the MAC address of your SB. Using your
internet explorer, login to gain internet access. Then disconnect your
laptop from the network and connect your SB to the network. If the SB
is running the same IP address as your laptop had then your SB should
have internet access now. The drawback of this is that you would need
to do this every time the internet gateway decides to prompt for the
login.
