Without another SB player and/or another SB IR remote to try, that cannot be answered. Call support, maybe they have run into this before. It's the first I've ever heard of this issue on a retail Radio. There were somewhat similar Radio IR anomalies during beta testing, but that was firmware related and affected all beta Radio's in the field.
