Looks like the Alarm not sounding may be related to the error:
Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::Players::_player s_error (317)
Unable to get players from SN: Connect timed out: , retrying in 900
seconds
Since I've resolved the above error by restarting SBS (thanks pippin)
after a re-boot (this is a workaround), the alarm has sounded, and
there have been no SBS errors in 4 days.
