re: slow. I'm running the latest JVM from Sun. Even opening the Java Console applet is slow. I thought Java had licked these performance problems? I'll dig deeper. Gotta be something misconfigured somewhere. Maybe this machine needed to be repaved?

views == a little slice of awsome. Lots of useful ones buried there. Thanks.

1. I'm not sure why RadRails would be running that slow. I've heard of people using gcj or alternative JVMs experiencing slow performance, so try the Sun JVM if you're not using it already.

2. The auto-complete problem is known and under investigation. Multiple tickets for it exist on the Trac.

3. The little tabs are called "views", and to open views, go to Window->Show View->Other and you'll see a list of all available views.

(darn, couldn't think of something starting with 'r' that means slow to complete the alliteration)

I'm running RadRails on Windows, 1GB of RAM. Using Java 1.5. It takes RadRails a lonnnnng time to start up and it freezes my system while it's starting up. The IDE is often unresponsive and slow. Think "typing at 300 baud" slow. While it's starting up , my CPU is pegged at 100%. I see the same slowness running RadRails on OS X with 512 MB of RAM. (I know, I hate bug reports that start "app seems slow" too. What does "slow" mean? How slow? etc...)

I'm also getting an exception when I hit ctrl-<space> to enable autocomplete. The dialog says "Ruby Content Assist" did not complete normally. Please see the log for more information. Reason: Assertion failed". The details on that dialog box just says "Assetion failed"  I can't find the RadRails log the dialog refers to. After the dialog is shown, I only hear a "bong" when I hit ctrl-<space> in the IDE.

An added annoyance are the little tabs across the bottom, I'm not sure with the proper name for them, but they contain the "Server", "Generators", "Console", etc... The ri or rdoc one has vanished and I can't figure out how to get it to show up again?

Any help would be appreciated.
