First issue is in
https://github.com/openstreetmap/leaflet-osm/blob/master/leaflet-osm.js ->
XML/JSON parser need to check visible attribute. That's an old bug, really.
Second issue is in
https://github.com/mmd-osm/openstreetmap-website/blob/ead1a6c03a6c32055bdacd60d3ea408bcbeef17e/app/assets/javascripts/leaflet.map.js#L282-L292
-> needs some more logic for HTTP 410 (Gone).
Both issues are related to #6353.
