Hi there all :) We are hiring again! To keep the list traffic down, I've combined 5 posts into one, you can thank me later :)
We have roles open right now for one or two Senior Rails developers, a Ruby friendly iOS and or Android developer and a Ruby friendly Operations Engineer. Who are we? reInteractive is a company that builds Web and Mobile apps in Rails and Javascript which solve costly business problems for our clients. We pride ourselves on high quality code that gets the job done. You can find out more about us at http://reinteractive.net/ and you can see some of the people you'll work with at http://reinteractive.net/team/ In the last 4 years we have grown from just little old me up to a team of 21 people now (22 next week). We are also the creators of the Ruby on Rails Installfest and Development Hub events which have introduced hundreds of people to Rails in the last 12 months. We have a wide range of clients who challenge us in ways you can only get in a consultancy... you have to be at the top of your game to get results here. It's a pretty interesting place to work :) What are the roles? Well, really depends on which role you apply for :) However, all of our team are top quality developers and engineers. They know their craft, pride themselves on constant peer review and improvement and want to be at the top of their game. Where is it? Everyone at reinteractive works remotely. However we do require you live in Australia or New Zealand at this time as you'll be a full time employee of reinteractive. If you don't live in Sydney, we fly you to our team days in Sydney once every couple of months. We do all our work and co-ordination via online tools and you pretty much get to set your own hours, as long as you are delivering a full week of work. Any Training? YES! All our technical staff get either 1 full day, or the equivalent of 1 day per week to spend on professional development. This can also include writing blogs posts for our active technical blog, helping maintain the numerous open source gems we look after, doing courses on our company wide code school account or just learning some new part of your field of expertise. What skills required? You need to be a senior person in your field. Why? Because clients will come along and you'll be working on their code base and have to find your feat quickly. We do also make "green fields" applications for our clients, but you need to handle both. You'll go through some technical interviews in your chosen role and we'll find out if you are a good fit. If you make it through, we then put you on an internal 2-3 week trial where you work on one of our code bases and we really get to see how you perform :) What are the work conditions? Awesome. You'll work from home and travel will be covered by reInteractive. We have bi-monthly get togethers in Sydney and your interstate travel for this is also covered. You are also expected to keep your own hours and make sure you are delivering the right quantity of work. To be blunt, we treat you like an adult and expect you to manage your time responsibly. Our team love the fact that they can go and pick up their kid from school, or take an hour out to go and handle that urgent errand without fear. What is the pay? Good. I recognise that our team have many opportunities in their life, and they all can make a good income. We make sure that we structure your pay package to suit, and remember, you don't have to commute :) How do I get in touch with you? Email me :) work at reinteractive done net. What if I don't live in Australia? Generally then you can't get the job. If you are planning to be here anyway in a month or two, you are welcome to get in touch and meet us when you arrive. Can a recruiter contact you? No thanks. Mikel Lindsaar -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby or Rails Oceania" group.
