I would like to create a slider control similar to what is found in the timeline editors of popular presentation software like Producer for PP 2003, of Macromedia Captivate.

Ultimately, I'd like to make it more like that screenshot of Producer, where multiple blocks of expandable chunks of content can be sized to fill an alotted amount of space (time slices in this case)
Has anyone done something similar or have any pointers for doing this?
