I just received this to forward to everyone. My heart aches at
the hurt I know she has felt from exclusion. She is a precious sister and I only
wish her the best. I know that God will heal her in His time. Please respond to
them in love.
your brother,
Bob Simons

=================================== Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I am not upset with the RR National decision to exclude women in leadership in the older boy program. I feel it unfortunate that Royal Rangers has decided to limit its resources, (that is women leaders who can teach vital skills) to their boys. However that is their right as a private organization and I have found an outlet for myself and family through Scouting which does not have such restrictions. Currently I am on district staff for the Cascade Pacific District of the Boy Scouts of America. I train adult leaders in plant id and animal wildlife study and assist in recruiting by going into elementary schools and telling parents about the Scouting program and how it builds morale character in boys and instills family values. I also work as a district merit counselor and troop merit counselor assisting Boy Scouts in earning the eagle required Environmental Study merit, Camping, as well as Astronomy, Mammal Study, Nature, Geology, and Oceanography. I have been blessed in being a part of my son's and husband life through scouting and have made some life-long friends along the way. I see Eagle Scouts at the college where I work and feel gratified to be able to assist them even further down life's trail. Whatever your task or "calling" is, perform it as unto the Lord, taking care and time to see that you have given the job your very best. I have been rewarded by both God and man.
