Subject: [RR] The Vegemite Devotion.

Dear Rangers,
Here is a band new devotion that was inspired by Kelly Gist, Thanks Kelly.

                                 The Vegemite Devotion.
                                    by Adrian Bonham

For me, there is nothing better than to sitting down in the morning with a
hot cup of
coffee and some vegemite on toast. It is the perfect way for this Aussie to
start the
day, besides having a time with my Heavenly Father. Most Non-Australians do
not
like vegemite for some strange reason. They think it's too salty tasting.
Vegemite
can be used in other dishes as well. It can be used to make gravy, or added
to
soup, or mixed with hot water for a nice drink. It can even be used in a
stew. Most
people outside Australia only see vegemite as a spread. So this versatile
spread can
become many things, just like we as Christian should be.

In 1 Corinthians 9:22-26 we read "To the weak I became weak, to win the
weak.
I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might
save some.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
Do you not
know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in
such a
way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict

training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get
a crown that
will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do
not fight
like a man beating the air." Paul exalts us to become "All things to all
men" How
can he do all this? 1 Philippians 4:13 we read "I can do everything through
him who
gives me strength." So, we adapt to where we are. If we are with Royal
Rangers
we become Rangers to the child and their parents. If we are with parents we
become parents. Above all our actions must reflect Jesus. So if we happen to
be in
a bar, we don't consume alcohol. We are the light to a dieing world.

Just as a runner trains hard for their event we must train hard for ours.
Ian Thorpe
would not be the world Champion he is if he did not train each day. So how
do
we, as Christians, train? Firstly by spending time each day with the Lord,
reading
His word and talking to Him. He loves to hear from His kids (1 Eph. 1:5 "In
love
he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in
accordance
with his pleasure and will-- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he
has freely
given us in the One he loves."). Secondly attending Church each Sunday. This
is
where we can inspired for the rest of the week and learn heaps. Thirdly, do
a Bible
College Course. At Hawkesbury Christian Centre we have two programs to teach

Christians. The first is "The Journey to Maturity". This takes the believer
through
what we believe up to Evangelism. Secondly, we have a two-year Bible College

course (which I completed last year. I missed out on Dux by two marks).
Fourthly,
in Rangers we have L.T.C., N.T.C. and A.N.T.C. These equip us to be
effective
leaders. So train is important otherwise we will not know what to do.

We all run our race with our eyes on the prize at the end, which is our
Salvation.
We will be judged for what we do. In 1 Corinthians3: 10-15 we read "By the
grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and
someone else
is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one
can lay
any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If
any man
builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or
straw, his
work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light.
It will be
revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work.
If what he
has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will
suffer loss; he
himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames." In
other words,
Someone plants the seed of Life in our lives, the Holy Spirit waters it, it
grows,
someone comes along and reaps us into the Kingdom, someone else lays the
foundation of our Christian life. We then build on that foundation with the
help of
the Holy Spirit. I know this sound simplistic, but when you look at our
Christian
lives you will see that it is it in a nutshell.

Therefore; let us all have one aim, to win the race we are in. We must aim
at the
finish line. No one ever won a race by wondering all over the place. We must
be
focussed on what we do. We must be obedient to what The Lord has called us
to
do. We must serve Him where we are by becoming "All things to all men in
the
hope that some might be saved.

Amen.

There's a storm coming, our Storm.

I looked into my life to see he lives there as well.
