We have 6 events:
1) bike inspection and safety quiz;
2) fast race - closed straight course - shortest elapsed time to cover standing start to flying finish;
3) no skids stop - at end of fast race - shortest stop distance without a skid;
4) slow race - closed straight course - longest elapsed time to cover start to finish;
5) marble race - five coffee cans in a large circle with a single entry/exit point - ride into the circle and drop a marble in each can - lowest elapsed time wins - penalty for missing can;
6) obstacle course - stay within lines in a circle and a squiggle - slalom around cones or posts - go around a cone twice - kick a coffee can - go between two lines of soda cans without knocking any down - sprint to finish - lowest elapsed time - penalties added on;
optional fun event:
7) shoe race - all boys put right shoe in a pile - youngest boys go first and retrieve their own shoe from the pile - first one back to finish line with shoe on and fastened/tied gets winners points.
We have always used the Bike Rodeo as a fund raiser. Get your friends, family and neighbors to pledge for points. Boys receive points for each event. Award prizes to the boys for each level of fund raising...
I think Brian Hendrickson may have this stuff in the Ranger Kids Leader's Manual...

Ok, since it is fairly quiet here right now...
My outpost has never done a bicycle rodeo or anything like that. I have been thinking about doing something along that line this spring or fall. We have a large paved parking lot at church so I was thinking of setting up some competition for bicycles, skateboards and roller blades/skates.
Obviously helmets, elbow and knee pads are required.
For games all I have come up with so far is an obstacle course. Any one have any suggestions or pointers?
