Modern American politics is a blood sport. *Special intrest has our government in it's pocket.. to manipulate and dominate the efforts and time of our elected officials. Often, good intentions spoken as promises are tempered when confrounted by a onslought of professional solicitors and agents of special intrest.
Congresswomen Linda Smith of SW Washington was elected to the US House of represenitives and spoke at her home church.. Glad Tidings Assembly of God, home to Ranger outpost 207 Vancouver Wash. Rep.Smith is a conservitive republican and was elected by the people of SW Washington state *Writeing her name on the ballot. She was part of the former "contract with America" class, and What she had to say was not directly critical of GW Bush but did tell an honest account of US politics at a national level. Her contention is that the work for the *people... is allmost nil. >From the start, as a newly elected official she was asked to entertain and host "special intrest" parties at a suit accross from her offices. She refused. She was defeted, not by her political chalengers but by the Republican machine who saw her as a threat to the system that feeds millions of $$$Bucks into their accounts.. The last election... New Hampshire voted for Sen.John Mc Cain who proclained a simular view that America is being sold out by their elected officials who must accept special intrest monies for elections.. Sen Mc Cain carried Michigan and was a Republican front runner untill the So.Carolina primary where the supporters of GW Bush slandered his record and spread unlimited propoganda via phone. Some of you GW supporters don't remember that. You may remember that election night, Sen. McCain pleaded that his independent supporters vote for Bush.. dispite considerations. Such is the character of a true patriot, and a true leader. Another characteristic is that following the fiasco "selection" process in Florida.. Sen McCain continued to push his legistation to change the rules of "soft money" *Special intrest takes many forms.. of unfair influence. GW Bush is a product of that influence, and not of the People. Dark forces, unseen aligences and political gamesmanship mark his administration. Your politics may be simple. Pro-life Pro-gun Free Market American society deserves our best, for all the people. This nation is not about the Majority ruleing, but about "we the people" and self government for all the people. The young deserve real education The workers deserve real jobs with a future The sick need health care. We need "Social Security" all our lives to prosper. A family man without a job or the ability to put food on his childrens plate is *not free. A businessman who has no moral center is not "King of the road" A Preacher who ignores a social duty is no "Man of God".
