I think that you will find that they moved the LFTL requirement to "e" under
Spiritual Growth in the Bowie Knife Rating. At least that is the way it is
in the Leader's Manual.

My hypothesis is that not enough boys were doing the Gold Track so they
moved it back here to get more of the boys into LFTL.

On the flip side, as a long time LFTL councilman and Pioneer leader, I do
not think this is fair to the boys as the opportunity to attend a LFTL
banquet generally only happens once a year if at all and this holds them
back from getting their Bowie Knife Rating due to something they have no
control over.

Keep in mind that I am an avid LFTL supporter and many of my boys are Jr.
Councilmen <On the soapbox> but sometimes it sure seems that the pushing of
programs is at our boy's expense. <Off the soapbox>

We do a LFTL Banquet one night of our Advancement Academy so the boys will
get the opportunity to attend one twice a year in our district.
