I just saved my first file in sRGB and it looked somewhat, well,
colorful ;) in geeqie and eog.

After some searching, I'm pretty sure that this is the offender

# exiftool -a -G -H 20101003-144717-L100524-mp00001A.jpg |grep -i intero
[EXIF] 0x0001 Interoperability Index: R03 - DCF option file (Adobe RGB)

A simple

exiftool -n -EXIF:InteropIndex=R98 20101003-144717-L100524-mp00001A.jpg

confirmed this - now it looks fine. Setting only the colorspace did not
work.

I guess the interop index is set by my camera, which is set to AdobeRGB,
even though I thought this was only meaningful for generated jpegs...

Could you please set the interoperability index on sRGB save, please?
(R98 for sRGB, R03 for AdobeRGB),

(one helpful link about interoperability index/colorspace combo was
http://regex.info/blog/photo-tech/color-spaces-page7)

Thanks, Mathias
