I also wanna say thanks for the nice words - It's that kind of things that makes us wanna keep doing this! I just have had too little time for coding this year, but as Klaus says, we are hopefully going to get a lot of coding done between Christmas and new year, we were very productive last year, so we hope for the same success this year and end up with the long promised 2.0 beta :)

Klaus, thought you were used to typing and coding on the eeePC :)

Hi guys!

Thanks - that means a lot - this is why I joined the team, since there was a good foundation, especially after Anders crafted the plug-in architecture, which laid the base for really getting to the bottom of the problems that were inherent in the 1.0 base.

There are still some minor quirks that we would like to have weeded out, mainly in the UI department. But we at looking at the possibility to sit down between Christmas and New year, and put the last finishing touches on a 2.0 beta - and once that has gone down to a 2.0.0 we are going to look at the fun part - like new export functions, better de-mosaic, automatic CA/PF removal, GPU acceleration and other funky stuff. It's all in the pipeline, but until we have a 2.0 we don't have anything to show.

Your feedback IS very important - while I do use Rawstudio for a lot of work, it has to accommodate a lot of different user scenarios - some use it for commercial work, some for art, some for fun and some for their family pictures. It needs to be usable in all scenarios - or at least contribute to the process and make sure it isn't too clumsy to use for anyone.

We are also aware that there is other software out there - most of them better in some areas than Rawstudio, and I think in an Open Source world there should be space for diversity, and giving the users the possibility of having several tools to choose from depending on the task at hand. We are NOT the editor with the most options, or biggest diversity of options, because there is great software out there that does that already. But we would like to be software that will let you edit and select from your 500 images from your photo shoot or holiday and process them within a reasonable time. After all, why take them if they take so long to develop that you just never get around to doing it.

Btw, my computer is back up, so this is why you are getting such a long post... Being able to type on a proper keyboard and not my 9" Eee is just heaven :)

    Hi,

I would lime to echo Martin's sentiments. Many, many thanks to the
devs, who for me at least have made a practical RAW workflow on
    linux a reality.

    Regards,

    Francesco

I'd like to second that. It's wonderful to experience a
    development team
that responds quickly and positively to our feedback, both in writing
and in code. It's great how they listen to the user community's ideas
and encourage discussion while still remaining true to their
    overall vision.

Gentlemen, I tip my hat to you.

    Martin
