In investigating f-spot, shotwell, etc., as a photo manager, I have
been quite pleased to find that my favorite raw editor (the latest
rawstudio-daily) does almost everything I need for photo management as
well. The minimal tag support is surprisingly flexible and useful.
I do have a few questions about the tags:
1. Is there any way to remove a tag once it's been added to a photo?
Not at the moment. I think we just need to find a way to do it (GUI), so
suggestions are more than welcome...
2. Is there any way to perform boolean expressions on tags, e.g show
photos tagged with A but not B? It appears that the current search box
is simply a logical AND of the tags?
No, but it sure is a good idea! You are right, now we just AND the tags.
But again, how should it work in the GUI? + and - in front of the tags or?
3. Do you have any plans to support hierarchical tags? F-spot did this
and I found it quite useful when managing tags for about 20k photos.
Can you give some examples of this (uses)? If it's the s*** we'll make
support for it ;)
Thank you for any help you can provide,
