The reason is that rawspeed was included in 2.0 and the renaming isn't done for rawspeed. There have been some discussion about rawstudio vs. rawstudio-daily that they should be identical and only one of them can be installed ...

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Am working this evening but can give it a try tomorrow
morning. Interesting that before 2.0 I had both stable and daily installed at
the same time.

Regards,

Francesco

If I try and install rawstudio-daily (which I was doing on a regular
basis before 2.0 came out) I get an install failure with :

trying to overwrite '/usr/share/rawspeed/cameras.xml', which is also in
  package rawstudio 0:2.0-0ubuntu1~lucid1
I'm getting the same error.

Using dpkg --force-something should work, but it could possibly brake
your stable rawstudio, if the cameras.xml files are too different between
the versions. Though I think that the newer .xml could work with the old
rawstudio.

Anyway I just removed the stable version before installing -daily.

This is on a 64-bit ubuntu lucid system. I tried renaming cameras.xml
to cameras.xml.was but the install still fails with the same error
message.
That's because the package manager only cares about the similar names in
packages, I think.
