Tip of the Day: Using the Scratch Pad Utility
Product.......: R:BASE X.5 and R:BASE X.5 Enterprise (Version 10.5)
Build.........: 10.5.4.11222 or higher
Sections......: Productivity Tools
Keywords......: Scratch Pad, Notes, Clipboard, Templates, Global

With the Scratch Pad, did you know that you can easily keep track of development notes, store captured text from the Data Dictionary, place a command templates, store variable expressions being used in code and forms/reports, and more, while actively developing your applications?

As a major boost in productivity during active development, the Scratch Pad notes can be general (Global), or specific to a R:BASE database.

When adding notes to the Scratch Pad, click in the window where you want to add text and begin typing. You can also use copy/paste to add notes. If you close the Scratch Pad, your text is preserved and is available when you reopen the utility.

The Scratch Pad window can be positioned several different ways to not obstruct R:BASE use, with docking options for all sides of the monitor.

The Scratch Pad is available from the Utilities menu bar option, and can be displayed using the [Ctrl+F11] key combination.

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
