Hello everyone,

I've just run a test to see if I was imagining this phenomenon and this is
the result.

I used the Windows search utility - Find Files - to display the database
files. The RB4 showed 2mb at this point.
I then created a special temp table that contained 400 images.
As the table was being created I periodically clicked on the "Find Now"
button on the utility.
The size only increased by a few hundred kb while the image were being added
to the table.
When I disconnected the database however the size of the RB4 file changed to
over 32mb!

I ran the create process a second time and the RB4 file grew to almost 63mb.
I autochk-ed the db - no errors.
I then PACKed the db - not something I usually do - and the size of the RB4
was reduced to 33mb.
I double-checked that the temp table was not permanent - it didn't exist.
I reloaded the db and the RB4 was reduced to 1.75mb again.

I would not expect to create a temp table with that number of images in
normal circumstances but even if the table contained 10 or a dozen each time
it was used then with a few weeks the size of the RB4 file would be
significantly increased - as must have happened while I was testing last
week.

Luckily, I tend to reload often enough for this not to be a problem for me
but others may want to be aware of it. Also, maybe a v7 beta-tester would
like to check to see whether it happens to them but there seems no point in
referring v6.5++p4 to RBTI.

Regards,
Alastair.
