G85 is a HP multifunction printer is not it ? Same model as G55 with a fax added ? I strongly suspect thoses printers to have many problems when running W2K/XP OS : I have a client that was using a HP G55 on an old good COMPAQ DeskPro W98 without any problems. He decided to buy a new IBM Netvista running W2K SP3, and it was impossible to install G55 drivers for W2K on both parallel/USB ports with the CD supplied with the printer. HP support send a CD with the last version. Installation process correctly, but G55 works correctly only if the printer is on before W2K is launched .... Hope this will help .... Good luck, J.M.
