It is only a little over two months until the 6th Annual R:Base Developer's
Conference. Do you have a topic which you would like to present? Let me
know. We're already in the process of building the schedule. There is a lot of
new stuff in R:Base 7.1. It will take a lot of presenters just to scratch the
surface of what can be done. And there will be a lot of new surprises
announced and demonstrated at the conference.

You might want to check airline schedules NOW, and make your
reservations and get the best rates possible. The conference activiites will
begin Friday, May 21, at noon for the golfers, at about 6:00pm for conference
registration. Sessions will run all day Saturday and Sunday, and half of
Monday, with the conference ending at about noon Monday, May 24, followed
by a second golfing opportunity.

We will be needing volunteers to do many things. You can email me
privately with whatever you are willing to help with at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Here are some things we need or can use, but the most important for right
now is the very first one:

Presenters! -- Do you have an application or just a tricky thing you did that
will Razzle-Dazzle other developers? An integration technique others can
use? Marketing or customer service methods that keep your customers
happy? Volunteer to show it. It can be a 10 minute quick little tip or trick, or it
can be an hour long (well rehearsed and well prepared!) presentation.
Email me your possibilities.

Sergeants At Arms -- one or more to enforce charitable donation rules,
safeguard the donations, and encourage further contributions to
Pittsburgh's Project Bundle-Up.

Caterers -- for the Midnight Session coffee and pizza.

A photographer -- to get all those candid digital photos and publish the
results web-world-wide.

Entertainers -- such as the SWORBUGs, which no longer stands for South
West Ohio R:Base Users Group, but might be the "Singing, Weird Ohio
R:Base Users' Group."

Awards tabulators -- to distribute, collect, tabulate, and keep secret polls for
awards to presenters in several categories

... and many more opportunities to help.

Stay tuned here for details as plans develop. You can register now at

www.rbase.com/conference

And those web pages will be filling with more and more details during the
coming days and weeks.

Looking forward to seeing you in May in Pittsburgh,

Bill Downall
co- Emcee
