I don't know if it's an eagle eye, more like live and
learn. The very first database I ever worked on was one to keep track of
donations for a non-profit group. At one point, an older volunteer
was entering much of the information. Original typewriters did NOT have a
1 key, the L was used in lowercase for a 1. She was used to using the
L and entered all zipcodes that way. Since bulk mailing required sorting
by zipcode, it was important that information was entered properly. It
took me hours to figure out why the addresses weren't sorting correctly.
So now...it's one of the things I can keep an "eye" on...

Thanks to all,
Turns out the problem was I used 7.5 to codelock an old file. (one that can only run on 6.5++ and previous) When I went back and re-codelocked it with 6.5++ all was well.

Good morning,
I had some older code fail today, and I can't see why. Can anyone see this?
Setup: Rbase 6.5++ Windows
PRINT job_rpt WHERE jobnum = .whval0
fails where
PRINT job_rpt WHERE jobnum = "18074"
works fine.
The variable whva10 is Text, Quotes are ". What is the difference, and why could this just start failing this morning with no changes to the database that I know of?
