Most problems clear up with a pack. Some problems only clear up with a reload. And I believe there are one or two (especially structural problems that you might have inherited from older versions of R:Base) that are best addressed with a complete rebuild of the database -- UNLOAD and LOAD. My experience is that recent 7.x versions of R:Base are rock solid. -- Larry
