Dan, It only works because none of your times cross the midnight mark. For instance, if the jobstart was 23:00 (11:00 P.M.), and the jobend was 00:45 (12:45 A,M.), the subtraction would yield a negative number, and I believe the RTIME function would turn that to NULL.
