Happy Friday!

We upgraded from version 7.5 to Turbo V-8 this week. Rather than directly
convert each database I took the UNLOAD ALL approach and then used Turbo V-8
to recreate the databases.

Since upgrading I have experienced quite a number of "Access Violation at
address 017B289D in module 'RBENGINE8.DLL'." errors. From what I have
observed it is seems to happen most often when indexes are being created and
more specifically indexes on date columns.

I have procedures that drop each index before loading any new data and then
the indexes are recreated after loading.

One other problem is that some of my programs that used to run in a minute
or two will sit and crank for up to a half an hour or more.

Everything was running very smoothly in 7.5. I understand that each version
gets a little tighter on coding standards and I'm willing to accept that.

I guess what I need is some direction as to what types of things to look for
when trying to determine why I am experiencing these problems.

Some of the ODBC connections seem to be running more slowly too.

I am updating to the 06/16 version at this time. I also adhere closely to
the various standards that are recommended such as the idquotes setting,
etc.

Specs: Windows XP Pro w/Service Pack 3; 2 GB of RAM; 3.4 GHz processor.

Thanks for any help. I need to get this under control before my boss pops a
cork - and I don't mean a wine bottle cork either!
