Sami, I had that exact symptom at one of my accounts a few months ago. I
eventually determined that it was spyware that was sapping all of the CPU
cycles and causing RBASE to become unstable. In my case, there were two PCs
involved and you could see that they had a problem by viewing the CPU usage
via task manager.

The CPU usage should be below 10% if the PC is idle and RBASE is open with
no other applications running.

I cleaned the spyware from the two PCs in question and the problems went
away. The CPU usage is now around 2-3% on those PCs.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Unexpected shutdown

I have three users at one client site, running R:BASE Turbo V-8, who often
are just exited from R:BASE -while entering data into a form or just sitting
at a menu. I have had TIMEOUT set to 30 and have experimented with turning
it off and back on with no affect on these users. This happens on various
menu choices and forms that other users run with no problems. It also
happens in both the Runtime and full versions of R:BASE.

I'm looking into their exact versions of Windows vs. other users and other
running apps, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has
any thoughts about what else I can check.

Thanks!

Sami
