Doggone it, Bill, I always feel such regret and now you're
"guilt-ifyin'" me.

Honestly, I did check my calendar, even though I knew RBase-related
items would not be covered by any training budget here. (Of course, at
least my current boss budgets for training, as opposed to my former
one.) And you might recall that I was poised to pounce on last year's
SAT, with you, Razzak, Et Al., in Indy, until the restructuring changes
at my former employer necessitated an immediate re-shuffling of
priorities.

Heck, man, I know y'all are perfectly correct ("more righter") and I
would really like to attend SOMETHING. I know that it would not only be
educational, but also inspi-R:-ational. I've been feeling guilty enough
about it that I didn't even tell you about the 2-3 most recent trips to
Indy to visit family. (Of course, those visits are busy, your
weekend/leisure time is valuable, and I don't know that I have anything
to share that would benefit you ... umm', wait, it's been a while but
isn't it my turn to buy the meal?)

I will remain hopeful and watchful for another SAT in Indy, maybe next
year. I will hope to attend such a Fall Ext-R:-avaganza as this when my
commitment to my kids' XC teams allows - the 2008 State Meet takes place
in Knoxville on 18-OCT and this particular piece of the athletic program
is pretty much my baby - but, although you've heard it before, I'll be
unable to attend. Trust me, though, that I regret this and that I will
be thinking about y'all.

Oh, I'm tryin' to cut back on some of the big words as well as the
quantity, although the big words have proven quite useful at times when
dialoguing with the kids on my teams.

As f/the Tigers, well, I expect 'em to back in the Top 10 soon, but I
don't have to talk about it beyond that.

I'll also tell you, I got some work to do before I could have anything
worthwhile to present, but lemme' get back to you on that one.

I'll be the one sorry to miss y'all.

Steve (Still) in Memphis, or Knoxville, or Indy ...

Steve,

Razzak is so right about there being no substitute. The conference will
not be streamed to your PC, or available later on youTube. What's in the
goody bag is such a tiny fraction of the value of really being there.

Steve, you've been making excuses for what, 10 years now? Oh, yes,
that's right! This is the 10th Anniversary Conference! If you attend, we
might even find something for you to make a presentation about -- as
long as you promise not to use too many very-big words, or too many
Memphis sports references.

If you can't make it, we'll be sorry to miss you. Yet again.

Bill

Razzak or John, will a Conference "CARE Package" be available this year,
for those unable to attend (that's moi, of course), as it typically has
been in years past?

Steve,

There is no substitute for being there and having first hand experience,
meeting your peers and some of the best R:Developers in the R:BASE
Community,
members of R:Dream Team, not to mention time spent exchanging ideas with
fellow R:BASE users in this high-energy, interactive environment.

However, if for some reason, you are not able to attend, you may reserve
the 10th Anniversary Conference "Care Package" by sending a request to:

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
