Subject: [RBASE-L] - Advice please...

Hello all,

I am working with Rbase version 7.6.5.3.1125, and I have a form with an
enhanced tab control. The first tab shows client information, and one of
the fields pertaining to a client is their status. I want to force the user
to have to fill in other fields if the status is active, however I don't
want the user to have to fill in those other fields if the status is
monitor, inquiry or close.

I would normally check for these things through an eep on a push button.
However, when the user switches to another tab, the record saves. I have
tried to create a trigger, but it rolls back all the changes and I haven't
been able to stop it from going to the next tab before checking. The eep on
the tab change only fires when going back to the tab and not when leaving
the tab, so that doesn't work. Should I try a rule in the table? I was not
able to find much information on rules to know whether this would work. Or
should I recreate this form and not use the enhanced tab control.

Any ideas???

Thank you and wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. J
