If you need to find some decent authoring/production software, Corel
runs specials all the time on a DVD-authoring program I bought last
year; in fact, I just upgraded to a new and (apparently) improved
version.

Here's the link:

I think it will do whatever you might need and I think there's a free
trial version. It has all kinds of pre-set configurations for
outputting to iPod, Youtube, and a truly wide range of other file
formats. It will also handle HD video files, such as the ones taken by
an early-Christmas-present-to-myself SONY camcorder I just "received".
(I also now know, though, from working with those big, hi-rez files,
that I need a faster computer, and/or more ram, and/or more/faster HDD's
...)

Also, I could be wrong, but I don't recall ever having seen a tool that
would author the content-file and include the controls. It is my
perception that the controls are part of the player.

BTW, I don't own stock or get a commission, but I did use this software
to create a very nice DVD last year covering the Middle School Cross
Country season at my kids' school, where I'm a volunteer/parent coach.
I learned what to do in fits-and-starts, but, at the end, I had a disc
with 7 titles/cuts totaling about 50 minutes, with cool content and good
music, and both the kids and their parents were pleased with the
results. I was too as I think it landed me at least one good additional
runner for this past fall.

I've already started work on the 2008 sequel "movie", due for release
Spring 2009.

HTH and Good luck,
Steve

Subject: [RBASE-L] - OT: dvd to flash

I have been hunting for a inexpensive software that converts dvd video
to
flash video. I also need the controls like they have on youtube videos.

Does anybody recommend a good program for this job??

I have tried a couple but the video was choppy or was missing the
controls.

TIA
