I have couple of questions regarding the new SA plans.
1. Will RBTI notify us when it is time to renew??
2. You mentioned a discount on SA when we purchase the product.
a. Does the SA that was bought at time of purchase take effect after
the first year??
b. Since we all purchased the product prior to SA being announced do
we get a discount for the first time if we buy now??
3. Some other products give free upgrade rights or additional discounts when
the next major release is available if you have SA. Is this also true for
RBTI products??
RBTI has always been responsive on my support issues and I would say they
are worth the extra dough in my mind.

It is my pleasure to announce R:BASE Software Assurance Plans to ensure
continued high quality support and services to all users of R:BASE and
R:BASE-related products.
In addition to purchasing R:BASE 7.6 and Turbo V-8 for Windows License(s),
users now have the option to add an R:BASE Software Assurance Plan.
When R:BASE licenses are purchased, the following services are
provided:
. 30 Days Complimentary Support (limited to installation and
conversion issues)
. Continued product bug fixes for One Year from the original
software purchase date
. Continued product enhancements for One Year from the
original software purchase date
. Periodic product activations for license transfers and/or
reinstallations for One Year from the R:BASE purchase date
The R:BASE Product Assurance Plan is essentially an extension of the above
services for your registered R:BASE software. It allows R:BASE Technologies
to provide continued product satisfaction throughout a product's life cycle
and beyond.
Keep in mind that existing users have received FREE updates over the past
few years, which included not only bug fixes, but many product enhancements.
Now you have the option to receive continued product updates beyond the
first year, through the R:BASE Software Assurance Plan.
Effective November 1, 2008, users with R:BASE products that were purchased
more than one year ago are no longer eligible for ongoing product updates
for their specific version without an active Software Assurance Plans.
The R:BASE Software Assurance Plan can be purchased at the same time as your
R:BASE software, or after the one year of free updates are provided.

If you purchase a Software Assurance Plan at the same time as your software,
the Software Assurance Plan will be discounted.
An active Software Assurance Plan, annually renewable, will allow any
customer using a current version, such as R:BASE
7.6 and Turbo V-8 for Windows, to receive ongoing updates for their specific
version until the official release of next major version.
Software Assurance Plans, which are optional, will be made available for
purchase immediately.
Please Note:
Existing R:BASE customers with active VIP Support Plan or Corporate Support
Plan, will continue to receive the same quality of support and service, as
long as they maintain the status of their respective support plan.
I encourage all current users of R:BASE 7.6 and Turbo V-8 for Windows to
update their versions to the latest Build of R:BASE 7.6 for Windows
(7.6.4.30919) and R:BASE Turbo
V-8 for Windows (8.0.18.30919). These FREE updates will be available online
until October 31, 2008.
Just as a reminder of the existing quality of service we have always, and
will continue to provide:
The last official updates of R:BASE 7.6 and Turbo V-8 for Windows were
released on September 19, 2008.
The current version of R:BASE 7.6 for Windows was released on October 21,
2006 and four (4) major FREE updates have been released since then. Each
update included not only submitted bug fixes, but requested enhancements as
well.
The current version of R:BASE Turbo V-8 was released on November 3, 2006 and
eighteen (18) FREE major updates have been released. Each update included
not only submitted bug fixes, but requested enhancements as well.
