Claudine, I expect Kenny stole the idea from a very old joke told in Sales meetings when I was in my 20's... Goes like this:
On a Sunday when the local Preacher was heading into the home chute of a fiery sermon, he said to his parishioners, "By a Show of Hands, How Many Of You Want To Go To Heaven?" . Up shot the hands of every parishioner, save One somber looking fellow in an aisle seat near the back of the Church... The Preacher said "What's the problem Brother ? Don't You Want To Go To Heaven? Surely you Must!!" The man replied succinctly "Sure I do Pastor, But It Sounded Like You Were Trying to Get A Load Up To Go Today!" That being the likely root of the Axiom "Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but No One wants to Die" ----- Original Message ----- From: "Claudine Robbins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "RBASE-L Mailing List" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2008 1:49 PM Subject: [RBASE-L] - RE: R:BASE 7.5 Software EOS/EOL http://www.metrolyrics.com/everybody-wants-to-go-to-heaven-lyrics-kenny- chesney.html Claudine -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dennis McGrath Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2008 12:22 PM To: RBASE-L Mailing List Subject: [RBASE-L] - RE: R:BASE 7.5 Software EOS/EOL >>The expectation of "forever" is the equivalent of "Everybody >>wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to die". Good one, Razzak. I've never seen that expressed exactly that way before! Dennis McGrath
