Dennis: We did test this. When we ran the setup program from within windows 7.6, the target program DID run slower. So whatever that setting is, it takes effect when run from a new windows version too. So it isn't a DOS-interpretted only command.
We did change the batch file to run from windows rather than DOS. So at this point we are going to disable this setup routine from the remaining DOS system and set just those few settings that we also set in windows. And that point it's for our inquiring minds only to try to figure out what command was the responsible one for slowing this down!
