When I connect to RRBYW14 on the Laptop, it runs just fine. New copies
of the current database fresh from Home or Work cause the error every
time so I figured it was something with V8 on the Laptop. Checked the
Laptop with various utilities finding nothing. Laptop is rarely on the
Internet. Deleted V8 then reinstalled and updated to 1212..same errors.
Since I cannot get past the error screens on the Laptop I have not been
able to run any rebuild commands. The Laptop probably needs a reformat
since it has been awhile, but that would not explain what has happened.
The Home and Work copies just chug along with no problems. Any ideas
or explanations?
Tom,
A few suggestions:
01. Using Windows Explorer|Search option, search for the following:
RBENGINE8.DLL
RB80_64.DLL
RB80_INS.DLL
RBENGINE8.CFG
Check the date and time of these files.
02. In a typically installed R:BASE Turbo V-8 environment, all Turbo
V-8 DLLs (listed above should be in \Windows\System32 folder.
There should be no other place(s) for these DLLs. If found,
simply delete 'em!
R:BASE Turbo V-8 configuration file (RBENGINE8.CFG) should be
in \Windows folder.
03. In a compiled application environment, all DLLs, CFG and Plugins
must be in the same folder with compiled EXE.
04. When copying all four files (.RX1 - .RX4) from flash drive to
this particular notebook, make sure that all four files are
copied correctly.
Before CONNecting the database, make sure to compare the file
size and date/time.
Incorrect/corrupt .RX1 file will generate such -ERROR-.
Hope that helps!
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
