Sharon I think you are stretching it. Sometimes I have an eep that says is to long. (With SLEN) But I know no way to do what you want. In my mind cursors can not be controlled by RBASE, I might be wrong!?

Happy New Year to All, Am I missing something simple here? I have a TEXT column of a designated size. The column in placed on a form as a DB Memo because I need the ability to wrap the text. Problem is that on the form I can type indefinitely.far past the designated number of characters. Of course, the number of characters that get saved is only the designated size of the text column. Is there as way for the cursor to STOP when I get to that size limit? Thanks so much for any suggestions. Sharon
