This evening a mystery table showed up in my database. Name is '497ca322'. It has 37 columns and 253 rows. Not a table I created. It is not in the backup database copy I made this afternoon. Backups are a very regular CYA routine learned from a past disaster. The table will not delete because the error message says it is referenced by another unknown table. Table does not open and Design simply leaves duplicate tables. Mystery tables remain after quiting and restarting. Unload runs then stops stops after 10 secs with a syntax error message. No viruses in the machine. I'll go back and make sure the backup is clean, but what kind of table is this and what generally causes it to be created? Running V8, 2 gig memory, latest updates, XP Pro.
