What are the best settings for speed using V8 on a small network?
The number one request I get is more speed from workstations.
In 7.5 I am using
Staticdb ON
Fastlock ON

Did you know if your startup form was a variable form, you can disconnect
from the database AFTER the form is displayed?
While connected to the DB, you can extract the VarChar version of the CFG
file, Write it to the (EnvVal('WinDir')), Disconnect and Reconnect using
the new version of the CFG.
Since Bill is using WiTango, I am assuming this same scenario is easy as
pie.

I assumed -- from R:BASE Help, that since everything and everybody was
using
Turbo V-8 and/or Oterro 8.0, that there was no longer any need for SET
COMPATIB ON. I was wrong. Witango must be using something that is not the
latest and greatest in their ODBC connections.
