Even when I use the GATEWAY button, the import is not proper.
A few suggestions:
01. Open the spreadsheet or workbook and carefully note all details.
Then, use the "File Gateway Import" option to define the following
parameters as you see fit.
. Starting Row
. Last Row
. Date Order
. Date Delimiter
. Leading Zeros in Dates
. Time Delimiter
. Decimal Symbol
02. Define the Field/Column Mappings.
Set mappings to specify the correspondence between fields in the
source and fields/columns in the destination table.
03. Carefully review the data that is being displayed to reflect the
actual column names in R:BASE table vs. columns in spreadsheet.
04. Decide the "import mode" and then click on the [Specifications]
button to save the entire layout as filename.rgw file.
05. Click on [Execute] button to start the process.
06. Review the imported data. If further adjustments are required,
repeat the whole process until you have "perfected" the entire
automation.
07. Use the GATEWAY IMPORT XLS ... OPTION "SHEET_INDEX value" and
"SPECIFICATION_FILE_NAME filename.rgw" parameters.
SHEET_INDEX value : This option is used to specify a specific
sheet of the spreadsheet file, starting with 0.
SPECIFICATION_FILE_NAME : This option is used to load a prepared
specification with all pre-defined settings for importing.
That should take care of your "Importing from Excel" routine and it
will always be consistent as long as the source spreadsheet (.xls)
is in compliance with your setup.
Have fun!
Very Best R:egards,
Razzak.
