Finally got the Pocket PC to accept the Excel files. Turning off the conversion was the trick. Being a new user of ActiveSync and Pocket Excel made it harder to find the spot to turn off the conversion. Thanks. Bill

Bill, This happens because ActiveSync converts the file to pocket excel format and then back again. Pocket excel only supports a subset of the function that desktop version does.
