Technically, any variables defined as expressions in report are automatically
cleared after the report is generated, only if you have selected the option
to 'Clear Variables After Printing'.
Report Designer | Main Menu | Variables ...
[ ] Clear Variables After Printing
Any other variables defined during the process must be cleared manually. The
best technique is to clear these variables as an embedded custom EEP, such as
After Generate ... report action.
Report Designer | Report | Actions | After Generate ...
That should give you the desired result of clearing variables after the report
is generated.
