Karen,

I _updated_ (ie: not a clean install) from Vista Home Basic to Windows 7 Home
Premium last Saturday and, as you would expect, R:Base v7.6 runs fine.

Some of the W7 effects take a few moments to get used to and the only change I
have made to a command file is to increase the time that the program waits for
a file to be written to disk.

In Vista I used to have a 3 second wait for a BAT file to complete and write
the file. In Windows 7 I increased the wait to 10 seconds after having problems
but I have not yet had time to try decreasing that to an optimum. (The BAT file
is very quick - it's the availability of the file that seems to be slow.)

I presume this is something to do with the way Windows indexes the file but if
anybody knows what causes it and/or how to eliminate the need for a pause it
would be very useful.

Regards,
Alastair.

  Subject: [RBASE-L] - RBWin 7.6 on Windows 7?

A client's about to get all new computers and is expecting them to have
Windows 7 installed. I'm assuming someone here is running RBase 7.6 windows
on it? Does it work okay?

  Karen
